Thanks TJ...

TJ brought me much joy to me this morning with his comparison of cartoon hero He-Man and frequent devourer (?) of heroes, Dana Jacobson. With that in mind, I though it only apropos to post my favorite all time Separated at Birth...Cavaliers Coach Mike Brown and my second favorite all time McDonald's character, Grimace.

I like that you managed to find photos where both are making the exact same hand gestures. Really sells it. Kudos.

That's pretty much a masterpiece.

Thinking of my own #1 McDonald's Character (I'm leaning towards Mayor McCheese) I came upon the entire cast of McDonald's Characters. Courtesy of Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_McDonald):

Ronald McDonald
Birdie the Early Bird
Hamburglar
Grimace
Iam Hungry
CosMc
Fry Kids
King Gonga
Mayor McCheese
Uncle O'Grimacey

More from Wikipedia:

Uncle O'Grimacey was created for an advertising narrative of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain both in celebration of St. Patrick's Day and to mark the annual appearance of the Shamrock Shake. O'Grimacey is the Irish uncle of the character Grimace and is a variant of the Grimace-design in that he is green instead of purple, sports a frock coat covered with several four-leaf clovers, and carries a shillelagh. His design motif is not unlike that of a stereotypical depiction of the Irish folkloric Leprechaun, similar to the mascot of the football team for University of Notre Dame. O'Grimacey resides in his home country for eleven months of the year and visits his nephew Grimace in March, bringing with him his "incredibly delicious" shake. Uncle O'Grimacey is no longer used by the chain for its promotions of the shake.

Wow.

Wow indeed. I'm not familiar with this affront to my Irish heritage. Nor am I familiar with Iam Hungry.

A friend of mine once had a bong that bore a striking resemblance to CosMc. Of course, being the lazy stoners that we were, we just called it Mayor McCheese.

As for my #1 McDonald's character, its no contest. Hamburglar by a mile. Why? Because my Uncle Ken was the creator of the character. Which pretty much makes him the coolest guy ever...

Somebody should've been him for Halloween.

His Uncle Ken?

Any word on the extent of Howard's injury?

Mark said...

Bruised thumb. It will hinder him I'm sure but they're minimizing it in the press, at least.
