It's been a while...

Since my last post of any significance, and it's going to continue to be a while. You see, I have an inordinate amount of work to do over the next few days (extending into next week) and there's not gonna be much chance for me to craft any type of worthwhile column. I'll try my best to get a post together next Tuesday or Wednesday before I head off to a conference next Thursday evening.
If you're looking to waste some valuable company time while I'm away, the Orlando Magic's website is offering free coverage of all the Orlando Summer League games on their website. It's a pretty nice diversion for people with time to spare...jerks.
For anybody who has a problem with this latest development, feel free to tell me in the comments section. I'll gladly meet you after work one night and rip one of your eyes out like your name was Capt. Turner.

Keith Bogans is still in the league? Wow.

I don't love the move but I see where it makes sense. Ideally you don't want Stevenson as your starter at the two. He's too limited offensively. For Pete's sake, he hit one (yes one) three all season. He's very good defensively and he's athletic (though not supremely so) but he's best suited to a defensive stopper role. Preferably off the bench.

By signing Bogans, you get another defensive stopper (though probably a notch below DeShawn)who adds toughness to your team. Additionally, he's far cheaper than Stevenson and should accept his role off the bench this year or next when the Magic upgrade the two spot.

I'd have loved to have kept Stevenson but not at what he was asking. The Magic need to make sure they have the money for extensions (Dwight, Jameer, Darko(?))and a run at a perimeter scorer next summer. You can't jeopardize all that in order to make Stevenson happy. Bogans played well during his first tour in Orlando and should mesh well with the current team. My question is this? Who starts at the two now?

Keith Bogans: In the league.

Joe Forte: On his way to Europe.

Funny how things work out.
